Padma Bahtera Medical Centre was born in Bali
From our humble beginnings as a clinic servicing overseas cruise ship workers, PBMC is rooted in the maritime community. Our origins hail from organized maritime labor health initiatives in Indonesia (KPI), and we have always felt the imperative to support our fellow crew as best we can, from a medical perspective. We deliver them service on par with the level they are expected to deliver in their jobs aboard cruise ships and in other postings.
While we have grown in the 14+ years since our founding, we always honor our maritime roots and continue to service virtually all major cruise and shipping employers with Indonesian skilled man-power. In the time since, we have expanded to Jakarta, Surabaya and Jogjakarta, delivering on that same vision of excellent patient experience and perfectly reliably results.

Our priorities reflect our values
We have recently expanded our employer partnerships beyond cruise and hospitality, now including medical needs for shipping and off-shore oil and gas postings as well as other skilled labor appointment types abroad.
We embrace a digital strategy as it relates to modernizing healthcare and are proud to be on the forefront of digitizing patient medical records, using various ML/AI interfaces to organize and inform our decision making and aggregating/anonymizing health data to help our employer partners continue to make better decisions about recruitment and retention by adding health related data as an input to their recruiting decisions.
Part of our commitment to the larger community of Indonesian healthcare is to continue to modernize and push diagnostic boundaries and techniques forward by supporting innovation, but the core of our medical work will always be the data privacy and security of the sensitive data we collect. We will never share individualized data with any 3rd party without specific pre-authorization from each patient directly.
